In August 2012 we went to Florida for a vacation for 5 nights. We didn't even book a hotel, just airline tickets and decided to make an adventure out of it. First, we stayed near Miami on the beach for cheap, it was amazing! We drove thru Miami and explored some food and shops. We drove by the cruise ship port and thru the city to Biscayne Key. There was fancy shops and restaraunts and a beautiful state park with a lighthouse. We swam in the ocean and ate at a cute italian restauraunt. Later, near the lighthouse, Jim proposed! I was so surprised and it was the most emotional moment of my life thus far. I said yes! The ring is gorgeous and it made for a beautiful start to the trip. After that in excitement we decided to drive our rental Fiat across the state to beautiful Naples FL where we encountered our friend from the past by complete accident where he set us up with a place to stay and took us exploring in kayaks to a private island! We ended up sinking our kayak and swimming inland and it was an amazing adventure and workout to say the least. We saw more wildlife and had a great time shopping and eating and making new friends with his new friends. It was meant to be! I got stung by a jellyfish, we went to an amazing zoo, and we stayed at a beautiful hotel for a great rate one of the nights as well! We will definitely be back to Naples to relive our engagement.
